Prerequisits

You need the following prerequisits to run stoned under linux:

Mandatory:

• Linux
• Mesa 3D library (better get yourself a hardware accelerated 3D graphics card)
• glut
• libpng (>=1.2.5)
• libz (>=1.1.4)
• fmod (www.fmod.org)
• of course the stoned executable

Most of these libraries should be on an up to date linux box anyway, so you might be lucky and everything is already there.

Prerequisits for 1.0 Branch (don’t use it!)

You need the following prerequisits to run stoned under linux:

Mandatory:

• Linux
• Mesa 3D library (better get yourself a hardware accelerated 3D graphics card)
• SDL-1.2 library
• SDL-net-1.2 library
• SDL-mixer-1.2 library
• of course the stoned executable

Optional:

• timidity patches - unless your soundcard supports MIDI in hardware or you start stoned with the -M option (no music)

Recommended:

• 3-button mouse
